Update: 08:05, Thursday, Aug 23,2012 (GMT+7)
Danang is on the process of installing 10 tourist information kiosks (TIK) with new interface.

In order to enhance the promotion of tourism and satisfy information needs of visitors, from now to 31.8, Danang Department of Information and Communications will install 10 TIKs with new interface at BaNa Hills, Danang Square, East Sea Park, Danang Museum, Ngu Hanh Mountains, Cham Sculpture Museum, Truc Lam Monastery, Vinh Trung Plaza, the city's train station and bus station center...

Before, Danang City has also installed a few TIKs at some places such as Danang International Airport, Green Plaza Hotel, Crown International Club ...

  Danang tourist information kiosks

The travel information machine project was launched by the Department of Information and Communications in late 2010, each using a touch screen and a software built as a digital mini tourist library with many clear but simple layout information and beautiful images of the city.

The content on travel destinations, hotels, restaurants, tours ... are divided by categories which are convenient for tourists to look up.

Those TIKs are installed in Vietnamese and English. Users just have to manually use their fingers to tap the icons on the screen listed by categories so as to find information, get directions or know their current location ...

Each TIK worth nearly USD $10,000 and maintenance/ replacement fee is about USD $3,700/ kiosk/ 7 years. The purpose of installing those TIKs is to help travellers, especially tourists, search for hotels, restaurants, bus routes..., thereby enhancing the tourism development opportunities for the city.
