Park Hyatt Saigon’s FTA Winter Dinner next week

FTA Winter Dinner at HCMC with Very Special Friends is being held at the Park Hyatt Hotel Saigon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The primary purposes of the FTA dinners are to recognize hospitality excellence, provide name-honoring scholarships and to make charitable contributions to benefit those less fortunate.

The event sees key hotel national account executives attending as well as press, educators and industry VIPs on an evening of Asia Pacific hospitality life.

Last year’s event at the InterContinental Asiana Saigon Hotel in District 1 helped raise cash for UNICEF Vietnam and UN-HABITAT Vietnam.

This year, the recipients of the 2013 FTA Hospitality Awards for Excellence and official presentations, along with a scholarship in each recipient’s name, will be made at the FTA Fall Dinners at Hong Kong on September 30 and New York, U.S. on November 12.

There are seven awards: Amadeo Zarzosa, director of operations resorts, Asia Australasia, InterContinental Hotels Group for the title Operator-Asia Pacific; Frank Sickelsmith, vice president of Adult Beverage & Restaurant Development, HMSHost for Operator-North America; Matthieu Ricard, Buddhist monk, former scientist, renowned writer and photographer for humanitarian award; Lothar Pehl, senior vice president operations & global initiatives, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific for Lifetime Excellence; Alice Elliot, chief executive officer, The Elliot Group for Executive Recruiter & Human Resources Leader; Rocco Angelo, Associate Dean & E.M. Statler Professor, Chapin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, Florida International University for Hospitality Educator and the award for IT Innovator will be determined soon.
